		The Language Awareness Campaign
		The Language Awareness Campaign is aimed at advising the parents of young children (0 to 5 years of age) as well as expectant parents, living in the Gaeltacht, of the advantages of choosing and using the Irish language as the household language and to encourage them accordingly.

When to start

Parent’s conversations with their babies are vital to their development. It is worth speaking Irish to your child from day one because that will help to make it feel natural for your family. But don’t worry if your baby is older - it’s never too late to build in Irish into your baby’s life - babies are very accepting.
